Getting around
Hikawadai Station is a 4-minute walk. It is served by the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho and Fukutoshin lines, so the trendy districts are direct rides: Ikebukuro in about 8 minutes, Shinjuku-sanchome in about 14 minutes and Shibuya in about 20 minutes on the Fukutoshin Line. Iidabashi is about 20 minutes on the Yurakucho Line, and Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo — The Making of Harry Potter is about 25–30 minutes away in the same ward.
Day to day, a Seven-Eleven sits about 96 m from the station, Summit Store Hikawadai Ekimae about 120 m, and two officially registered shotengai shopping streets at the station. The neighbourhood is quiet residential and safe at all hours.
Is there an elevator?
No. Casasele 302 is on the third floor of a building with no elevator, so you will carry luggage up stairs. If that is a problem, ask us about Casasele 102 on the ground floor, or Kaza 503, which is in an elevator building with step-free access from the elevator.
How do you get here from Haneda or Narita Airport?
From Haneda, the route the owner recommends is the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, the JR Yamanote Line to Ikebukuro, then the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho or Fukutoshin Line to Hikawadai — about 60–75 minutes in all. From Narita, take the Keisei Skyliner or a JR train into central Tokyo and change to the Yurakucho or Fukutoshin Line — about 90–120 minutes. Once you are on either Metro line it is a direct ride to Hikawadai, then a 4-minute walk on mostly flat, paved paths.
Is the studio suitable for a baby or small children?
Generally yes. Every window has a lock designed to be hard for children to open on their own, and a baby bath and children's dinnerware are provided.
What are the check-in details, and can you store luggage?
Check-in and check-out are self-service: a keybox at the studio, with the passcode in the house manual we send after booking. Check-in is between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. and check-out before 11 a.m. The studio is on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so pack light or be ready to carry your suitcase up the stairs. We cannot store luggage after check-out, so use a coin locker at the station or a luggage-storage service. There is no private parking; coin parking is nearby.
